What to Expect at Your First Visit
The moment you step into 5 Star Dental Group, our team will greet you with a cheerful welcome.
You may want to sit a moment in our well-appointed waiting area to complete your paperwork. You could save some time by filling out the downloadable patient form in advance of your appointment. But we think that you’ll be glad to arrive a few minutes early to unwind with a complimentary cup of coffee or tea and a freshly baked cookie. We bake a hot batch every morning for our patients!
Speaking of time, we understand that your time is valuable and limited. We’ll make every effort to see you promptly at your scheduled appointment time, and we won’t make you wait.
Initial Consultation
Once you’ve settled in, we’ll take you on a tour of our office and eventually lead you to a private consultation room. This is where we’ll review your paperwork and discuss your dental concerns and smile makeover goals with you.
Next, an assistant will take you to a treatment room and answer any other questions you may have. Dr. Tostado will also come in at this point to meet you and find out exactly how he can help you. Then, the assistant will take any necessary dental x-rays, photographs, and other diagnostic aids. After this, Dr. Tostado will provide a comprehensive dental exam and then sit down with you once more to go over the findings and create a treatment plan.
Your exam will include an oral cancer screening, TMJ evaluation, occlusal (bite) evaluation, and a gum health assessment, in addition to an examination of your teeth.
You can expect this initial exam to take just about an hour. This does not include time for a dental cleaning, so if you’d like to have one on the same day of your examination, then please let us know in advance.
