Do you have any chips, stains, or gaps in your front teeth that make you embarrassed to show them? Porcelain veneers could help you fall in love with your smile again.
Veneers are very slim shells of porcelain that are bonded right over the fronts of your front teeth which are the most visible when you smile. They mask unsightly imperfections such as gaps, unevenly shaped teeth, discoloration, and enamel defects.
Dental Veneers—What to Expect
As you can see in the accompanying diagram, a veneer replaces the outermost layer of enamel on the front aspect and biting edge of a tooth. This outer enamel layer is carefully polished away by Dr. Tostado to allow the veneer to lie perfectly even with the tooth after it’s bonded in place.
Alternatively, Dr. Tostado also places no-prep veneers that don’t require the removal of any enamel. These veneers are ultra-thin, so they can go directly over your teeth.
Veneers are attached to your teeth via bonding, a process that helps them chemically adhere directly to your teeth. Since the veneers offered here at 5 Star Dental Group are made from porcelain, they are strong, stain-resistant, and blend in perfectly with your natural tooth enamel. Porcelain veneers reflect the same properties as tooth enamel such as translucency and hue gradation.
After getting your dental veneers, your smile will look brighter, more even, and more youthful.
Porcelain Veneers at 5 Star Dental Group
What many dental patients don’t realize is that dental veneers aren’t all created equally.
Placing porcelain veneers that look realistic is an art. If you want dental veneers to help you get the smile you want, you should visit a cosmetic dentist who takes an artistic approach to designing and placing veneers.
What sets our veneers apart from the rest is that here 5 Star Dental Group, we personally hand-craft each porcelain veneer right here in our on-site full dental laboratory. Designing veneers in our own lab allows Dr. Tostado to create a beautiful smile tailored to your unique preferences.
Here are the steps Dr. Gilberto Tostado will take to transform your smile with dental veneers:
Step 1: Smile Design
Dr. Tostado will work with you to create a treatment plan for placing veneers that will help you achieve your smile aesthetic goals. He will take pictures of your teeth and show you digital renderings that can help you visualize the end result. Dr. Tostado may even recommend creating a cast of your teeth that he can use as a working model to design the size and shape of your veneers.
Step 2: Preparation
If your teeth need preparation to receive porcelain veneers, then Dr. Tostado will trim away a small amount of enamel from the teeth that will be getting veneers. Your teeth will be numbed up for this part of the procedure. Afterward, he will place temporary veneers that resemble the permanent set. You’ll wear these provisionals to “test drive” them and to protect your prepared teeth while you wait for the final product.
Step 3: Try-In
If you aren’t satisfied with your provisional veneers, Dr. Tostado will make some more adjustments to ensure they’re comfortable and look the way you had envisioned they would. Once your permanent veneers are ready, Dr. Tostado will place them over your teeth so that you can see how you like them.
Step 4: Bonding
Once Dr. Tostado is convinced that you love the way your permanent veneers look, he will permanently bond them in place.
Our Beautiful Smile Guarantee
We are confident that you’ll love the way your smile will look because of all the preparation to make sure, at each step, that you are excited about its appearance. But if, when they are tried on, something went wrong and you are not in love with how they look, Dr. Tostado won’t bond them on. He will make whatever adjustments are needed or send them back to the ceramist if necessary until you love them. That is our beautiful smile guarantee. You have to be completely happy with the way they look and be ready to have the permanent ones bonded in place.
After completing his master’s degree in restorative dentistry, Dr. Tostado went on to complete a three-year residency program in prosthodontics at the University of Southern California and thus became a specialist focusing on restoring damaged and missing teeth. The American College of Prosthodontists, of which Dr. Tostado is a member, emphasizes that a prosthodontist is highly trained in cosmetics.
