A denture is the most personal thing a dentist will ever make for you. It shapes how you look, how you speak and whether you enjoy a meal. Most dentures are designed in a few minutes and made in a lab in another state. At 5 Star Dental Group yours is designed by Dr. Gilberto Tostado, a prosthodontist, which is the dental specialty in replacing teeth, and made in the Tooth Studio, our lab down the hall. Full Dentures, Partial Dentures, and the Question of Implants
Full dentures replace all the teeth in an upper or lower arch. Dr. Tostado designs the shape, size and shade of the teeth to your face, not to a catalog, and sets them to a bite that lets you chew evenly.
Partial dentures replace several missing teeth and attach to the teeth you still have. Designed well, they protect those remaining teeth rather than loosening them.
Implants. If your main complaint is a denture that will not stay put, two to four implants can change everything. Dr. Acuña places them in our office, and Dr. Tostado designs a denture that snaps onto them. We will show you both paths and the cost of each before you decide.
What Happens, Step by Step
- Consultation. An exam, photographs, and a conversation about what you want your smile to look like. If you have old photos of your natural teeth, bring them. Patients who have avoided the dentist for years are common here, and nobody is lectured about it. You leave with a written plan and fee.
- Extractions, if needed. Oral conscious or IV sedation is available. Weighted blankets, noise cancelling headphones, and warm towels are standard here too.
- Design. Dr. Tostado takes impressions and records your bite, then designs your denture. You will try a wax version and can ask for changes to the shape, shade, or position of the teeth before anything is finished.
- Delivery and adjustment. Your denture is finished in the Tooth Studio and fitted. Small adjustments in the first weeks are normal and are done here, usually the same day you call.
Cost and Financing
You will receive the full fee in writing at your consultation. We are a fee-for-service practice, so the materials and design are chosen for you rather than for an insurance schedule. Cherry and CareCredit monthly payment plans are available, and we file PPO claims for you.

Why have a prosthodontist make my denture?
Prosthodontics is the specialty of replacing teeth. Dr. Tostado completed a three year residency in it and has designed and made restorations for more than a decade. The difference shows in how the denture fits, how natural the teeth look and how evenly you chew.
How long do dentures last?
A well made denture typically lasts five to ten years. Your jaw changes over time, so relines are normal along the way, and those are done in our own lab.
Can I get my denture the same day my teeth are removed?
Yes. An immediate denture is made before your extractions and placed the same day, so you never go without teeth. It is adjusted or relined as your gums heal.
Will my denture look fake?
Not if it is designed to your face. Dr. Tostado chooses tooth shape, size and shade for you and sets the teeth with the small irregularities natural smiles have. You approve the look in wax before it is made.
What if my denture keeps slipping?
Ask about implant overdentures. Two implants under a lower denture solve most slipping problems, and the consultation will show you whether you are a candidate.
