What Are Implant-Supported Dentures?
Implant-supported dentures offer a modern way to replace missing teeth by using dental implants as a foundation for stability and comfort. These dentures, sometimes called snap-on dentures or implant overdentures, connect to implants in your jaw for a secure fit, giving you the freedom to eat, speak, and smile confidently. Implants act as replacement tooth roots and provide a base that keeps your denture firmly in place. Unlike traditional dentures, which may shift or slip, implant-supported options use secure attachment points, like denture locator inserts or snap-ons, to stay fixed. At 5 Star Dental Group, implant-supported dentures are becoming increasingly popular because they deliver a more natural feel and appearance. Schedule a consultation with our San Antonio, TX team for more information on implant-supported dentures and to decide if they are right for your needs.
What Is the Process for Implant-Supported Dentures?
At 5 Star Dental Group, the implant-supported dentures process involves remarkable teamwork from our leading dental practitioners who ensure you get the most comfortable and precise fit possible. The process begins with an initial consultation where we will evaluate your dental health, discuss your goals, and answer all of your questions. The next step is placing the implants, and our oral surgeon will perform this part of the procedure by placing the implant posts in your jaw. Once healed, these posts will act as anchors for your dentures. The healing process usually takes a few months, as the implants need time to fuse with the bone and create a secure foundation. While the implants are healing, our team will design and build the dentures for a personalized fit. Once the implants are fully integrated, your new dentures are secured with attachments. Snap-on dentures offer a removable option while denture locator inserts give a more fixed, stable choice, allowing you to choose what best fits your lifestyle.

Great people! Great Service!
The best! 100% recommend
Always the best professional care!
My husband and I have been going here for about 25 years. They are always friendly, on time and professional, from Mary Jo at the front desk to every single staff member. Dr Tostado is wonderful, knowledgeable with extreme attention to detail. He communicates every aspect of your care. He makes us feel comfortable Dr. Acuna gave me my numbing medicine on my last visit and I didn’t feel any discomfort during its administration and afterwards. She was excellent and was so gentle. They are upfront with all aspects of your care, very ethical and we have never been disappointed. The office is beautiful too, very calm and very clean. I would recommend this practice all the time.
